The Tall Female GingerLead is designed for shorter handlers, or tall, lean, female dogs typically over 70 lbs.
IMPORTANT: Size is determined by Pad Width and Adjusting Dimensions, not the weight of a dog (see sizing table below). Commonly used with taller breeds like Great Danes, Greyhounds, Dobermans, or other tall, lean dogs.
The maximum length of the Tall size is 37 inches (pad, strap & handle loop adjusts from 26" to 37"), which allows the handle to be closer to a tall dog's back. If a dog is more than 37 inches around its belly, consider the Large size.
Visit our sizing page for measuring instructions.
• Adjustable, Padded Sling
• Velcro Handle
• Adjustable Leash (may be detached)

I came home from work one evening and found my 150lbs mastiff, Sunflower, sitting in the garage unable to stand up. I was in a panic. While trying to figure out how and when I could get her to the vet, I remembered seeing advertisements for a device to assist with lifting you animal, but I could not remember the name. I googled dog slings, and immediately recognized Gingerlead. I ordered one that night. It was a Sunday and I received it Wednesday. In the meantime I was using a bath towel to get her hind-end up. This sling saved my back! It made getting a pretty heavy dog up so much easier, and my elderly parents were even able to lift her using the gingerlead. I would stand directly behind her, using both hands, bend at the knees and lift using my legs. Sounds a little drastic for lifting a dog but she was dead weight. The only thing I might change would to make the lead that attaches to the collar detachable. I didn't need that, so it was in the way. Thank you Ginger!
This harness is absolutely the best!
My dog has bone cancer and can't walk on her hind legs. The harness I was given from one of her vets enabled me to pick her up. But it was incredibly complicated and painful for her when I put it on or took it off. And it interfered with her urination and defecation. One of the straps from the old harness actually would block her anus. Try pooping with that! I searched and found you online and called you up. You reco'd this for my dog--and put it in the mail for next day delivery. It is WONDERFUL! Far better than the other harness. Easy to put on and take off. More comfortable for my dog. And most importantly, does not interfere with her ability to go to the bathroom.
I have an Australian Shepard/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix female dog who has been living with Degenerative Myelopathy. She will be 11 years old this year and it has been heartbreaking to see her decline. I had been searching months and have bought and returned several items due to the fact they lacked the functionality needed to support my Sophie. When I used ginger lead, I felt I had hit the mother lode. It worked great and gives the right amount of support I need to walk and support Sophie. She can use the bathroom with no problems and it is an easy on and off the body. I am completely satisfied. Thank you for your product.
I am so happy I ordered the support harness for my 85 pound coon dog/Shepard mix (Frau) She has hip problems and I use the harness when I walk her cause she may stumble and fall. She is doing so much better, it seems to give her confidence even thou I hardly have to hold on to it. The quality of the product is excellent and I received it fast in the mail. I am thankful for companies like yours that can make products for our pets to help them out, after all they are members of our families. You get a five star rating from me!
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for creating this product. My dog required FHO in both hips due to being hit by a car. After almost 2 weeks, I was able to walk my baby out of the hospital in her Ginger Lead. My baby is by my side still recovering but slowly gaining strength and walking outside for her potty breaks using the Ginger Lead. The lead offers her additional support getting up and confidence when she is walking. Very easy to use and adjust.
Fabulous Product.....posted info on my Facebook page because I was so pleased. I did realized I should have order the male Tall version so I could have used for both sex dogs as I have multiple great danes. Love the product; just love it!!!!!! My Facebook account is under: Alice Carol Dewey Mosher if you want to see my comments.
Ordering was easy, instructions were impeccable! Shipping - FAST! Support by the company - OUTSTANDING! Support in of itself - WONDERFUL! My Husky Shiloh, just had ACL Surgery and the GingerLead is the PERFECT for her needs, and mine too!
Great product and customer service! This was just what we needed to help our elderly lab steady herself after surgery. Thank you Gingerlead!
we use this everyday and love it! so much better than the household things we tried to use before
Super fast delivery! GREAT product!! Thank you!!!
The sling arrived a few days ago but I haven't had a chance to try it on my dog yet. I've been busy teaching her to use a ramp to go up and down the porch steps and eventually to get into the car. She's 13 years old and has moderate hip dysplasia as well as arthritis in her hips and in her spine at the base of her tail. She also doesn't like to go outside in the terribly hot weather we've been having. However, I'm sure that the sling maybe along with a support harness will make it easier for her to get in and out of the car.
Your product is wonderful. It helps us so much with our Great Dane. She has lost all mobility with her hind legs, and this keeps her moving.
The only problem we have is that the Velcro wears out too soon, so then we have to buy another one. But thankfully we can!
The product arrived promptly and is of excellent quality. However, my Sheba did not like it and refused to walk when I put it on her. After several attempts, I gave up. It really would have been great if I could have gotten her to cooperate.
I was surprised to receive a call to follow up on my
Not so positive experience using the GimgerLead. I realize, I the owner, need training and not my
Dog. Thank you for graciously accepting my return.
