Our miniature Dachshund jumped and slipped a disc in his back, paralyzing him from the center of his back to his hind toes. Our Veterinarian commenced to do a lot of work on him, including acupuncture. After 3 treatments, he regained feelings. They would wrap a towel up, place it under his stomach which would assist him in walking. After about a week, a lot of medications, rest and 4 treatments, he was walking much better with help. I know that this is a common problem with Dachshunds and there had to be something better than a towel. After finding your web site and reading into the "mini" Gingerlead, I ordered one. This is the most fantastic item for anyone that owns a Dachshund, with or without back issues. I highly recommend that any dog owner should be aware of this item in the event their dog has back problems. Our Veterinarian was very impressed with the Gingerlead. I gave him all of your information so he can pass the information on to other owners.

I have a small dog that has a disease that affects her brain and prevents her from walking properly (mainly affects her balance). For the past six months I've been walking her by bending over and putting my hand under her belly, helping her with her balance and reducing the load on her hind legs. I just purchased the mini harness from gingerlead and it is a God send. It not only allows me to walk her without bending over, but because it makes walks more enjoyable, we walk more frequently, which appears to be making her stronger. I let her walk as far as she can on her own, using the two leashes to steer her and catch her if she starts to stumble (kind of feels like you're controlling a marionette puppet). Great product. I highly recommend it.
Our Yorkie canine baby 14yrs9mos old has developed week rear legs and could no longer squat to relieve herself and was falling into her waste. She was getting depressed and embarrassed by this situation which was affecting her personality in a negative way. After the short learning curve using the lead for the both of us, she is now more comfortable while relieving herself. She no longer falls into her waste and seems happier with her beautiful personality shining through. This lead also helps her while walking as it helps steady her gate. The Ginger Lead is exactly what we needed and I have told our veterinarian about it to let others know about this awesome assistance tool. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Robin, Az
My miniature pinscher is over 15 years old and recently lost the use of his rear legs due to nerve damage. I was told I needed to start thinking about putting him down because his quality of life would suffer without the use of his legs and he is too old to have the corrective surgery. Then I bought the mini gingerlead and it has been a godsend. The only thing I would suggest is making a mini with the V cutout for male dogs so they don't urinate on the strap...however it easily rinses out and dries quickly. It's been a month and my dog loves walking farther each day as he rebuilds his endurance. I highly recommend this product and its totally worth the money. Thank you!
For six months, my 7lb., 14 year old Lhasa Apso was unable to walk outside without her back end falling to the side or backwards. She needed help to go to the bathroom. The leash arrived in two days and now she can walk easily, go to the bathroom and I think her back legs are getting stronger. She still has to be carried in and out of the house due to stairs but once outside, she is happy to walk with no problem except keeping up with her. I call her my pup-et. Easy to put on and take off. No time needed for her to get used to it. Only wish for color choices. Best thing I've ever purchased for one of my animals.
Our dog had to have a 2nd knee surgery and I wish we would have had this the 1st time around. She's only 10 lbs so what we bought the 1st time she kept slipping out of and it was more of a hassle than anything. The fact that this one clips on the back and then attaches to a front harness prevents any kind of slipping. You can tighten it also and it fit perfect. If she would have been any smaller we still would have been able to tighten it more. If that was the case the only thing I think we'd have to do is cut some of the padding off so it would bunch up.
The Gingerlead had been extremely helpful for my JRT. She injured a disc in February and I had been using a sling for her. Slings tend to slip and offer inconsistent support. Now my dog is healing well and feeling frisky. Though, she does not have the level of coordination that allows her to walk completely unsupported. I ordered the Gingerlead on a Friday and it was delivered Monday. It is a well-made product that is not unduly bulky. I can take my dog for walks and ensure that her body is supported appropriately. I would highly recommend the Gingerlead.
Great product. I have a mini dachshund with recent back surgery. Very helpful to provide her support with walking without killing my back leaning over. As she became more mobile, but still activity restricted, the gingerlead allowed me to really control her by being able to also attach to her harness. Padding on the belly is just right too! What a life saver during this time of recovery!
My Doxie went down, and then had surgery. The clinic sent us home with a make shift solution that was uncomfortable and chafed his skin. This lead works perfectly and is nicely padded. I can’t put a harness on him yet so I attached it to itself to make the handle work! He loves it, and feels like he is doing his “normal” activity. Very comfortable to use from an owner standpoint as well.
This is exactly what I needed for my small dog that has a problem with her front legs. This harness was pictured for the back legs but works just as well on the front legs also. I have tried everything for my dog to be able to walk better and FINALLY found just what she needed. She loves it and since it's so padded,we now walk a lot further. It was reasonable. Thank you so. Much
This is really helping with my pup, she was run over by a car and has a fractured hip and can't put weight on it for the next 2 months. She didn't like it at first but she has gotten use to it. She makes us turn our heads when were using it to go to the restroom. She is a diva even when hurt. Thank you so much for this product.
I am using this lead with my mini doxie who has Cushing's disease and her legs are splayed out. She suddenly stopped walking altogether a week after I received it, so now it's what's helping me keep her up when I take her outside to do her business. It came just in time and works perfectly. Thank you, Gingerlead!
I have a small Shitzu who has lumbar myelopathy. I bought both the mini and small to see which would work best. I love both of them. These harnesses have made it easier for my dog and easier for me to be able to give him the best care possible. I wish I had discovered Gingerlead earlier.
Our pomapoo has neurological problems that make it impossible for her to stand or walk unaided. The Ginger Lead mini makes it osduble for us to help her get around and support her while doing her "business." She even has gained more confidence and seems to have improved mobility.
My little dachshund had surgery and is recovering. Not able to walk yet but I know he'll make a full recovery. The gingerlead is the best thing for him. I'm able to walk him and do therapy (rom) exercises. Poor baby enjoys his short outings. Thank you.
My 17 year old dog has developed severe weakness in his hind quarters and was having great difficulty walking. This harness has made a great deal of difference for him. He is now able to walk and eliminate so the harness has been a life-saver.
I paired this mini back support with a soft harness and it has been a lifesaver for me and my 14-year-old (17 pounds) Shih Tzu, who has severe arthritis. He now "flies" up and downstairs and over snowdrifts. Thank you!
Got this product so quick! It has been a true back saver for me assisting my partially paralyzed senior dog, she has regained a little more independence and it helps keep her front legs moving...THANK YOU!
I really like the leash, my dog is 18 with vertigo and arthritis , this is going to help both of us out a lot. I’m very pleased with it and will recommend to anyone with dogs that need help walking..
I purchased this device for an upcoming bi-lateral knee surgery for my mini poodle. All the people I talked with highly recommended it.
