Excellent well made and functional assisting our 12 1/2 year old arthritic Labrador who recently suffered a crucial ligament tear. Unlike other designs (think lamb's wool) the GingerLead works well and is comfortable and safe for both the dog and handler. I recommend this product for helping your dog with mobility problems.

I purchased a refurbished Gingerlead because we weren't sure if it was going to be the right solution to our dog's problem. It arrived very quickly and looked brand new in the package. It turns out to be a great assistance tool to help our nearly 13 y/o Labrador with a torn CCL in his hind leg with the few steps up into our house. It's really simple to slip under his backside and he doesn't mind the assistance, either.

65 pound dog, but perhaps should have bought the smaller size? The Med-Large is s good height for the humans but too wide for the dog's length, there's no way to help him stand and let him pee. The item is sturdy, soft on the 'dog tummy' side, and firm enough to slip under the dog pretty quickly.
Info that would have helped us buy the right size includes:
-Explain whether the human-use straps are the same length for all sizes.
-Better pictures demonstrating the different sizes on the same dog, to make it obvious which size is needed based on the dog's body length. (Not so much weight or height)
-Matching width measurement from inside of hip to penis for male dogs.
While the correct size is an issue that could be addressed easily on the ad, this IS a useful and welcome device to help a dog get up and down.
One more improvement wish:
-The connecting strap and hook would benefit from a D-ring or fabric hook to keep it out of the way while slipping the belt under the dog.

I recently purchased a Gingerlead for my six-year old lab after his surgery for a torn cranial cruciate ligament. I ordered it after his surgery and have, therefore, only used it a few times but I love it. He will be having another surgery in a few months for a slipped patella, and this will be put to use again. Thank you for a truly wonderful product.

My girl has an underlying neurological disorder causing unsteady gait in her rest. My Vet recommended this product. I’ve used it once and it was easy to use, allowed me to maintain control of her tear end. I need to get a harness vs her collar due to her pulling with excitement. I believe this is going to be a great addition and allow her to go on walks without her usual falling. The gal in the phone was very nice and the ordering process was easy.
